Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Sports Physiotherapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the prevention, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports and exercise-related injuries. You will work closely with athletes and physically active individuals to optimise their performance, facilitate recovery, and prevent future injuries.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and diagnose sports-related injuries
- Develop and implement personalised rehabilitation programs
- Provide immediate on-field care and emergency response during sporting events
- Design injury prevention strategies and training programs
- Monitor athlete progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and other healthcare professionals
- Educate athletes on proper techniques, injury prevention, and self-care
- Maintain accurate clinical records and treatment documentation
- Apply manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises, and modalities
- Support athletes physical and psychological well-being during recovery
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physiotherapy
- Master of Physiotherapy (MPT) in Sports Physiotherapy, Orthopaedics, or related specialisation
- Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Physiotherapy
- Valid physiotherapy license and registration with the respective state council
- Certification in sports physiotherapy or sports medicine
- CPR and First Aid certification
Required Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of clinical experience in physiotherapy
- At least 1-2 years of experience working with athletes or in sports settings
- Experience in treating sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions
- Hands-on experience with manual therapy techniques and therapeutic modalities
- Prior experience working with sports teams or athletic organisations
Additional Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of biomechanics, exercise physiology, and sports science
- Excellent assessment and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Willingness to travel for sporting events when required
