Job Description
Qualification: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A masters degree is a plus.
Experience: Minimum of 2-5 years in solar design and cost estimation. Experience with C&I Rooftop and utility-scale projects is preferred.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Design:
1. System Design:
- Conduct site assessments/site surveys for optimal placement of solar panels and associated equipment.
- Develop detailed designs for solar PV systems including electrical 3D layouts, schematics, site layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Use solar design software (AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope) to create accurate and efficient system designs.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs).
- Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, etc., during both pre-sales and after-sales stages.
- Analyze specifications to identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
- Develop detailed Bills of Materials (BOMs) and procurement lists.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for accurate pricing.
- Support project managers with budget and schedule development.
- Monitor project progress and update estimates accordingly.
- Provide technical support during installation and commissioning.
- Prepare and present project proposals and reports to stakeholders.
- Conduct energy yield assessments and mounting structure stability checks.
- Perform technical due diligence and risk assessments.
- Stay updated with solar technology, trends, and regulations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Implement quality control procedures for design and estimation accuracy.
- Contribute to the development of standards and best practices.
