Software Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Software Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building scalable applications. The ideal candidate should have experience in backend development, primarily using Java. Experience in Python is also acceptable.

This role is for the Data Platform Team, so candidates with exposure to data engineering tools will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java (Python is a plus).
• Work with databases like MySQL/PostgreSQL to design schemas, write queries, and optimize

performance.

• Build and integrate REST APIs for internal and external use.
• Collaborate with teams on requirement gathering, design discussions, and code reviews.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications for performance and scalability.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java (primary skill).
• Experience or knowledge of Python (acceptable).
• Strong understanding of databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL).
• Experience in developing and consuming REST APIs.
• Good knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Good to Have (Plus)

• Exposure to data engineering tools (Spark, Kafka, Airflow, etc.).
• Experience with data pipelines / ETL processes.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms.
• Basic knowledge of JavaScript.
• Understanding of OOP and design patterns.
