About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Android Kotlin Engineer with expertise in Android Automotive OS (AAOS) and HAL to join our automotive software development team. In this role, you will contribute to building next-generation in-vehicle infotainment and automotive platform solutions, focusing on Kotlin-based development within the Android framework and seamless integration with hardware layers.
What You Will Do
- Develop and enhance Android Automotive OS (AAOS) features using Kotlin
- Design and implement application and framework-level components in Android
- Work on integration and customization of HAL interfaces for automotive hardware
- Collaborate with framework, BSP, and hardware teams for end-to-end system integration
- Debug and resolve system-level and application-level issues across Android layers
- Contribute to development of automotive services, apps, and middleware components
- Optimize performance, responsiveness, and stability of Android-based automotive systems
- Ensure adherence to Android architecture guidelines and automotive standards
What You Need to Be Successful
- 3 to 6 years of experience in Android development with strong focus on Kotlin
- Strong proficiency in Kotlin and good understanding of Java
- Experience working with Android Automotive OS (AAOS)
- Understanding of Android architecture (Activities, Services, Broadcast Receivers, Content Providers)
- Knowledge of HAL, AIDL/HIDL, and Android system internals
- Hands-on experience with AOSP and Android build system
- Experience debugging using ADB, logcat, and performance tools
- Familiarity with embedded Linux systems
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience working on automotive infotainment or cockpit platforms
- Knowledge of Vehicle HAL (VHAL) and automotive-specific Android services
- Experience with Jetpack libraries and modern Android architecture components
- Familiarity with Android security concepts (SELinux, permissions, sandboxing)
- Exposure to performance tuning, memory optimization, and system profiling
- Understanding of automotive standards such as ISO 26262 or ASPICE

- Bachelor s degree (BE/B.Tech) in:
- Computer Science
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Electrical and Electronics Engineering
- 3 6 years of relevant experience in Android development with Kotlin
- Hands-on experience with AAOS and exposure to HAL integration
- Strong understanding of Android application and system-level development
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative automotive product environment
