Job Description
We are looking for a highly skilled and hands-on Software Development Engineer (SDE) to design and build scalable, secure, and high-performance applications for Skypoint s AI-powered healthcare platform.
This is a hands-on, customer-facing engineering role where you will work across backend services, frontend applications, cloud infrastructure, data platforms, and GenAI-powered agentic systems.
As an SDE, you will interact directly with customers , particularly U.S.-based healthcare organizations, to understand technical and business requirements, discuss solution approaches, troubleshoot complex issues, and support successful implementations. You should be comfortable communicating with both technical and business stakeholders and translating customer needs into scalable technical solutions.
You will also contribute to technical design decisions, conduct code and architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and implementation teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable applications using Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React/Fluent UI, and Microsoft Azure .
- Architect and build reliable backend services, APIs, microservices, and responsive frontend applications.
- Build scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions supporting data unification, healthcare ontologies, AI agents, and workflow automation .
- Contribute to the development and integration of GenAI copilots, AI agents, and intelligent automation for healthcare workflows.
- Interact directly with customers , particularly U.S.-based healthcare organizations, to understand business requirements, technical challenges, integrations, and product use cases.
- Participate in and, when required, lead customer-facing technical discussions, solution walkthroughs, implementation meetings, and troubleshooting sessions .
- Translate customer requirements and business problems into scalable technical designs and production-ready solutions .
- Own complex features and technical deliverables from requirements and solution design through development, deployment, and production support.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and customer stakeholders to ensure successful implementation and adoption.
- Clearly communicate technical approaches, dependencies, trade-offs, timelines, and risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Participate in system design, architecture, and code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
- Develop and maintain automated tests and contribute to CI/CD and DevOps practices .
- Investigate and resolve complex application, integration, and production issues through effective troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Identify technical risks and continuously improve performance, scalability, reliability, security, and code quality .
- Ensure solutions comply with applicable security and privacy requirements, including HIPAA, HITRUST r2, and SOC 2 Type 2 .
- Collaborate effectively with U.S.-based customers and stakeholders during PST/PDT working hours .
- 2+ years of professional software engineering experience building production-grade applications.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming, and system design .
- Strong hands-on programming experience with Python .
- Strong full-stack development experience using TypeScript, JavaScript, React, or Fluent UI .
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure , preferably including Azure Functions, API Management (APIM), Cosmos DB, and related services.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native architectures .
- Experience designing scalable, resilient, secure, and high-performance applications.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and data-intensive applications.
- Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Agile development, and DevOps practices .
- Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to independently own complex technical requirements from design through production.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must , given the customer-facing nature of the role.
- Comfortable working directly with customers and communicating technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
- Comfortable working during PST/PDT hours .
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, copilots, or agentic AI platforms .
- Experience integrating AI capabilities into production applications.
- Experience with healthcare technology, healthcare data, or regulated SaaS environments .
- Understanding of security and compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 .
- Prior experience working directly with U.S.-based customers or stakeholders is strongly preferred.
- Microsoft Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) certification or willingness to obtain it.
