We are hiring a Senior Backend Engineer Execution who will report directly to the founders and own the delivery of CostRoom s backend services.
This role is ideal for a strong individual contributor who enjoys building, shipping, and owning production-grade systems.
Core ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain backend services for:
SaaS and cloud data ingestion
Cost analytics and reporting
Procurement workflows and automation
Build clean, scalable RESTful APIs
Deliver production-ready features with speed and quality
Optimize application performance and database queries
Support containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes
Collaborate closely with the architecture lead and interns
Technical Skills & Requirements
Strong proficiency in Java 11/17+, multithreading, and concurrency
Spring Boot, Hibernate / JPA
Relational databases: PostgreSQL / Oracle
NoSQL databases: MongoDB
REST APIs and system integrations
Docker, Kubernetes
Cloud exposure: AWS / Azure / GCP
Maven / Gradle, Git
JUnit, Mockito
Experience & Qualifications
4 6+ years of backend engineering experience
Proven execution and ownership mindset
Experience in startup or fast-paced product environments preferred
