Software Development Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Port and optimize systems-level applications across Linux environments for resource-constrained edge devices.
• Develop lightweight, reliable, and secure software components for data transmission from edge devices to the cloud.
• Integrate edge devices with AWS cloud-based IoT services for scalable and secure connectivity.
• Design and develop cloud-based data pipelines covering data ingestion, processing, storage, and visualization.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational metrics to support system reliability and performance.
• Develop clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Work on edge-cloud integration, device-to-cloud communication, and event-driven/serverless architectures.
• Collaborate across the software stack to support reliable telemetry collection and processing from edge devices to cloud dashboards.

Preferred candidate profile

• 3+ years of professional software development experience, preferably working with systems-level or distributed applications.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python.
• Hands-on experience with Linux-based development and systems programming.
• Experience working with AWS cloud services, particularly AWS IoT and serverless services.
• Experience with IoT, edge computing, device-to-cloud communication, or cloud-based data pipelines.
• Good understanding of MQTT, TLS, secure device connectivity, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience developing software for resource-constrained devices and optimizing applications for performance and reliability.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as AWS CDK or CloudFormation is a plus.
• Exposure to OTA deployment and rollback mechanisms, CI/CD pipelines, or hardware-in-the-loop testing is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to write clean, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
