Please note: These are residential roles; therefore, candidates with a strong interest in working with vulnerable children in residential care settings will be preferred.

For over 60 years, we have reached over 65000 children through our 32 SOS Childrens Villages and 28 community projects in India positively impacting over 83000 lives. Position Summary: He/she supports SOS Youth & Children in leading Independent life. He/she contributes to overall development of Children & settlement of Youths.


Key Responsibilities:

  • To Support the SOS Mother in the holistic development of children which includes Health Care, Behavioural formation, Career Planning, Counselling.
  • Organise Extra Curricular activities for children
  • Monitor and supervise Computer Education and English Language session, Evening study sessions and Tuition classes,
  • Visit Schools, attend PTM and keep track of child academic progress
  • Implement various child centric Intervention program
  • Liaison with Government agencies
  • Support in creating environment supporting education in families
  • Processing School fees, Vendor payments, Food allowances etc thru Software.
  • Support to Village Director in the area of Administration and Management of the SOS Children's Village.
  • To play a key role in building partnerships with other NGOs and Agencies

Child and Youth Safeguarding Commitment:The incumbent must commit to the organization's Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy and ensure its implementation in all aspects and activities.

  • Ensure implementation of child and youth safeguarding policies and protocols.
  • Organize regular sensitization workshops on topics such as cyber safety, substance abuse, and healthy relationships.
  • Monitor compliance of youth homes and staff with safeguarding standards.
  • Promote an open and supportive environment for reporting concerns or violations.
  • Ensure periodic training for youth and staff on safeguarding practices and legal rights.

  • Optimum utilization of budgets
  • Number and quality of activities for Children
  • % of children for whom Child Development Plan is made and followed up.
  • Quality of maintenance of progress files
  • Number of disciplinary & child abuse issues arising

Working conditions

  • Posted in Childrens Village as a residential coworker to support the program. Travel as and when required.

Qualifications & Experience: Education:

  • Master's degree in a field with relevance to the position such as behavioral science, psychology, social work, sociology, organization development, training or business administration.

Experience: 2-5 years of experience in the relevant field.


Languages: Excellent communication skills (English / Tamil). Proficiency in 1-2 regional languages will be an advantage. Must have significant and proven human, writing, presentation and people management skills.
