When citizens get connected and become communities, it leads to transparency, easy availability of trusted information, easier collective action to address common issues and an easier/ better urban daily life. Using LocalCircles, organizations can reach out to citizens and understand collective issues, challenges, solutions, opportunities, pulse at macro or micro levels. Responsibilities: Take the lead and own the development of the LocalCircles Android application. Work closely with the Technology and product lead in developing and implementing product features on the android App. Managing the overall architecture of the app including network layouts, configurations and performance. Unit- test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. Co- ordinate with the QA and product lead to identify bug and issue fixing and improving the overall application performance Continuously discover, evaluate and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency and enhance user experience Collaborate with cross- functional teams to define, design, and ship new features as and when required. 5+ years of software development experience, ideally using Java or Python. Have experience in publishing an Android app from scratch, minimum 2 app published on Play store Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android, and development for multiple resolution displays. Strong knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns, and best practices Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications. Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git and of multi- threaded interface design, XML, JSON parsing and data serialization Investigates, defines and resolves complex problems. Act as expert with respect to any technology issues. Have a knack to define and develop POC. Good to have experience in developing apps on Phonegap, Cordova Experience working with automation tools (Build/ Deployment/ test) Ability to handle large amounts of data and phenomenal debugging principles and perseverance. Detailed orientated with excellent problem solving and problem- identifying skills. Ability to chase tight deadlines and respond to changing business requirement Flexible and proactive/ self- motivated working style with strong personal ownership of problem resolution Aptitude to multi- task under pressure and work independently or as a member of a team Is highly motivated, positive and possess ability to prioritize when under pressure The position will be based at our Noida, India office.
