Job Description
We are seeking a Junior Snowflake / Azure Data Factory (ADF) Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team. This role is ideal for someone early in their data engineering career who is looking to build strong technical skills in Snowflake, Azure, and modern data platforms.
The Junior Engineer will support the development and maintenance of data pipelines, assist with data analysis, and work closely with senior engineers and leads to deliver high-quality data solutions. This is a hands-on, learning-focused role with opportunities to grow into more advanced data engineering responsibilities over time.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Support
Assist in building and maintaining ELT pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Snowflake.
Support data ingestion, transformation, and loading processes.
Work with existing data models within the Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
Perform basic data validation and assist with ensuring data quality.
Data Analysis & Troubleshooting
Support data analysis and discovery across source systems.
Assist in identifying and resolving data issues with guidance from senior team members.
Help document data flows, transformations, and mappings.
Collaboration & Learning
Work closely with Senior Engineers, Leads, and Architects to learn best practices.
Collaborate with Product, QA, and BI teams to support delivery of data solutions.
Participate in Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Continuous Development
Develop skills in SQL, Snowflake, ADF, and data engineering best practices.
Learn and apply data modeling concepts and performance optimization techniques.
Begin using tools such as Copilot to assist with development and analysis tasks.
Contribute to team documentation and knowledge sharing.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
1–3 years of experience in data engineering, data development, or related field.
Exposure to SQL and relational databases (required).
Basic familiarity with Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools (preferred).
Understanding of ELT concepts.
Exposure to Python or another scripting language (nice to have).
