Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Snowflake Administrator to manage, optimize, secure, and support our Snowflake Data Cloud platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Snowflake administration, performance tuning, security implementation, user management, data governance, and integration with cloud environment AWS.

Key Responsibilities

# Snowflake Administration

Install, configure, and maintain Snowflake environments.

Manage Snowflake accounts, warehouses, databases, schemas, and data-sharing capabilities.

Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and query execution.

Configure virtual warehouses and optimize compute/storage usage.

# Security & Access Management

Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).

Manage users, roles, privileges, and security policies.

Configure Single Sign-On (SSO), MFA, and network security policies.

Ensure compliance with data security and governance standards.

# Performance Optimization

Analyze query performance and recommend improvements.

Optimize warehouse sizing, clustering, partitioning, and caching strategies.

Monitor workloads and tune Snowflake resources for cost efficiency.

Implement resource monitors and usage controls.

# Data Management & Integration

Support data ingestion using Snowpipe, SnowSQL, and ETL/ELT tools.

Integrate Snowflake with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Manage data replication, cloning, failover, and disaster recovery.

Support data migration projects from legacy databases to Snowflake.

# Monitoring & Troubleshooting

Diagnose and resolve Snowflake performance issues.

Monitor system health, storage usage, and warehouse activities.

Provide production support and incident resolution.

Maintain operational documentation and runbooks.

# Automation & DevOps

Develop automation scripts using Python, Shell, or SQL.

Support CI/CD implementation for Snowflake deployments.

Work with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform.

Automate user provisioning, monitoring, and maintenance tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications

# Technical Skills

6+ years of Snowflake Administration experience.

Strong expertise in Snowflake architecture and administration.

Proficiency in SQL and database concepts.

Experience with Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Time Travel, and Zero-Copy Cloning.

Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Knowledge of performance tuning and query optimization.

Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica, Matillion, Airflow, Talend, or Azure Data Factory.

Experience with scripting languages (Python, Shell, PowerShell).

# Database Knowledge

Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, or Teradata.

Understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling.

Knowledge of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.

# Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work in Agile and DevOps environments.

Strong documentation and knowledge-sharing practices.

Preferred Qualifications

SnowPro Core Certification or SnowPro Advanced Certification.

Experience with data governance and compliance frameworks.

Experience implementing DataOps and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.

Nice-to-Have

Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code.

Kubernetes and container platforms.

Data Lake technologies.

Cloud security and governance expertise.
