Shopify Plus Technical Lead

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Shopify Plus Technical Lead / Solution Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-scale Shopify Plus solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Shopify Plus, Shopify Markets, Shopify B2B Commerce, integrations, and AI-powered development tools, with hands-on experience delivering multi-brand, multi-site, and global e-commerce platforms.

This role requires a strong blend of technical leadership, architecture, solution design, and stakeholder management capabilities to drive large-scale commerce transformations.

Key Responsibilities

Shopify Plus Implementation

• Lead end-to-end implementation of Shopify Plus solutions across B2C and B2B commerce ecosystems.
• Design and deliver scalable multi-site, multi-brand, and extended storefront architectures.
• Establish platform best practices and reusable commerce frameworks.

Shopify Markets & Global Commerce

• Configure and manage Shopify Markets for:
• Multi-country storefronts
• Multi-currency commerce experiences
• Multi-language localization
• Region-specific domain management
• Implement global commerce strategies to support international expansion.

Shopify B2B Commerce

• Enable and manage Shopify B2B capabilities including:
• Company accounts and customer hierarchies
• Price lists and catalogs
• Custom pricing and payment terms
• Bulk ordering workflows
• Self-service customer portals
• Partner with business stakeholders to define scalable B2B solutions.

Storefront Development

• Develop and customize Shopify themes using:
• Liquid
• JSON Templates
• Modern JavaScript frameworks and front-end practices
• Optimize storefront performance, accessibility, usability, and SEO.

Enterprise Integrations

• Integrate Shopify with enterprise applications including:
• ERP Systems
• OMS Platforms
• PIM Solutions
• CRM Platforms
• Payment Gateways
• Develop and support integrations using REST and GraphQL APIs.

AI & Automation

• Leverage Shopify Sidekick and AI-driven technologies to accelerate development and content management.
• Utilize GitHub Copilot and other AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity.
• Drive AI-assisted workflows, automation, and merchandising initiatives.

Technical Leadership

• Define architecture standards, coding guidelines, and governance frameworks.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Drive platform security, scalability, and performance optimization initiatives.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and integration challenges.
• Mentor development teams and champion AI-first engineering practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Shopify Expertise

• Strong experience with Shopify Plus implementations.
• Hands-on expertise in Shopify Liquid development.
• Experience with Shopify Storefront API and Admin API.
• Strong understanding of Shopify theme architecture and customization.
• Experience implementing Shopify Markets.

B2B Commerce

• Experience with Shopify B2B features and workflows.
• Knowledge of customer hierarchies, company accounts, catalogs, and pricing models.

Integration Technologies

• Strong experience with REST APIs and GraphQL.
• Experience integrating Shopify with ERP, OMS, PIM, CRM, and payment systems.

AI & Productivity Tools

• Experience using:
• Shopify Sidekick
• GitHub Copilot
• AI-assisted development tools

Leadership

• Experience leading development teams and large commerce implementations.
• Strong stakeholder communication and solution design skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-brand and multi-site commerce implementations.
• Exposure to Shopify Hydrogen and headless commerce architectures.
• Experience delivering global e-commerce solutions.
• Experience working within Agile and DevOps environments.
• Strong problem-solving and mentoring capabilities.
