Senior Specialist, Full-Stack Engineer

Job Summary

We re seeking a Senior Specialist, Full-Stack Engineer to join our team in Pune. This role will lead the development of monitoring and automation solutions that improve the reliability, efficiency, and responsiveness of Production Support operations.

In this role, you ll make an impact in the following ways:

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of solutions that support the Production Support (PS) team, with responsibility for:
  • Designing, developing, and enhancing monitoring and observability solutions that enable the Production Support team to proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve production issues.
  • Identifying recurring manual activities performed by the Production Support team and delivering reliable, scalable automation to reduce operational effort, improve accuracy, and accelerate incident response.
  • Partnering with Production Support stakeholders to prioritize automation opportunities, define operational requirements, and continuously improve monitoring coverage and support workflows.
• Design and develop core components in Java
• Create and implement system testing procedures
• Collaborate and work with other teams in a platform operating model
• Analyze and support vendor software
• Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating priorities, delivery progress, production risks, and resolution plans.
• Prioritize development, automation, and production-support initiatives based on business impact, operational risk, and team capacity.
• Deliver enhancements and ongoing maintenance for applications within the designated business domain.
• Provide second-level production support by diagnosing complex incidents, coordinating resolution, and implementing preventive improvements.
• Use approved AI-assisted development tools, such as GitLab Duo, Windsurf, and GitHub Copilot, to improve engineering productivity while complying with security, data-handling, and code-review standards.
• Develop Unit Test Cases with a view to integration into CI/CD pipeline

Qualifications

• Bachelors or higher degree in computer science/ engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required
• At least 4 years of software development experience, including hands-on delivery of production-grade applications and increasing responsibility for technical design, operational support, or engineering leadership.
• Strong proficiency with Java, SQL and Git
• Proficiency with Data Standards & Data Modelling
• Proficiency with text-based formats like XML & JSON
• Strong Proficiency with messaging frameworks - MQ / Kafka
• Proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot, Spring Integration
• Experience with automated unit, integration, and system testing, together with DevOps practices for build, deployment, release validation, and production support.
• Experience deploying and supporting applications on cloud or container platforms, with an understanding of orchestration, configuration, resilience, and operational monitoring.
• Comfortable in Windows and Linux environments
• Previous experience designing and implementing new systems and features independently
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and Moogsoft, including dashboards, alerts, log analysis, and service-health reporting.

• Proven ability to analyze Production Support workflows, identify repetitive manual tasks, and deliver reliable automation for evidence gathering, health checks, ticket enrichment, reporting, and operational recovery.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using Java and at least one scripting language such as Python or Shell, with experience integrating REST APIs and working with JSON and XML.
• Experience with Linux, SQL, messaging platforms such as IBM MQ or Kafka, containerization, and CI/CD tools including GitLab, Jenkins, Maven, or equivalent technologies.
• Solid understanding of production incident management, root-cause analysis, runbooks, operational controls, change validation, service-level objectives, auditability, and human approval requirements for risk-bearing actions.
• Strong problem-solving, technical leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate across Production Support, Application Development, infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Understanding of the regulatory and control landscape relevant to software development in financial services, including secure development, change management, data protection, auditability, and segregation of duties.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in the securities or financial-services industry, with an understanding of mission-critical transaction-processing environments.
• Experience designing and delivering scalable monitoring, observability, self-service, and operational automation solutions for Production Support teams.
• Knowledge of site reliability engineering practices, including service-level indicators and objectives, alert optimization, capacity and availability management, and reduction of mean time to detect and resolve.
• Experience with cloud-native platforms, microservices, containers, orchestration, infrastructure automation, and resilient application design.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering or operations capabilities, including automated incident triage, knowledge retrieval, ticket enrichment, and support workflow orchestration with appropriate human approvals.
• Experience defining measurable automation outcomes, such as reduced manual effort, improved monitoring coverage, fewer false alerts, and faster incident response and recovery.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, influence technical direction, and collaborate effectively across geographically distributed development, Production Support, infrastructure, and operations teams.
