Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a seasoned Full Stack Developer to join our Online team as a Senior Software Engineer I. You will be a key contributor to our online platform, focusing on building scalable, high-performance applications that power the CaratLane omni-channel experience. This role requires a deep understanding of e-commerce workflows, with a specific emphasis on payment integration and platform modernization.

Key Responsibilities

• Feature Development: Lead the design and development of complex features for the online platform using Node.js and React.
• Payments & E-commerce: Own and optimize payment gateway integrations and checkout workflows to ensure seamless transaction experiences.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers (SE2s and Interns) and participate in rigorous code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
• Platform Modernization: Drive initiatives to modernize the existing tech stack, improving application stability and performance.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Product, QE, ERP, and Support teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Operational Excellence: Handle production issue escalations, release activities, and ensure 24/7 platform reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Years of Experience: 4–8 years of professional software development experience.
• Tech Stack: Advanced proficiency in Node.js (Backend) and React.js (Frontend).
• Domain Expertise: Proven experience in the E-commerce or Retail sector is highly preferred.
• Payments: Direct experience working with payment systems, ledger management, or financial/checkout integrations.
• Database: Strong knowledge of relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases.
• Architecture: Understanding of microservices architecture and API design.

Good to Have

• Experience with omni-channel workflows, invoice management, or order processing systems.
• Exposure to React Native for mobile application support is a plus.
