Senior Software Engineer

VSA X Software engineer (backend) Role Overview We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer to design and develop high-performance services in a cache-first, high-load distributed environment. The system relies heavily on Redis, efficient C# code, and optimized communication patterns (REST, gRPC, messaging).

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services using C# / .NET
• Build and maintain REST APIs, gRPC APIs, and SOAP services
• Work in a distributed system with multiple nodes
• Design and implement cache-first solutions using Redis
• Integrate and work with message brokers (RabbitMQ, Kafka)
• Optimize application performance focusing on latency, throughput, and memory efficiency
• Write efficient NHibernate queries and support schema migrations
• Continuously optimize hot paths and critical execution flows
• Use AI-assisted tools and agents for code generation, refactoring, and test creation
• Validate AI-generated output for correctness, performance, and security
• Troubleshoot production issues in a high-load environment
• Collaborate across engineering teams

Requirements

• 5 years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in C# / .NET
• Experience with REST APIs and/or gRPC
• Experience working with Redis or similar distributed caches
• Experience with RabbitMQ and/or Kafka
• Understanding of distributed systems / multi-node environments
• Hands-on experience with NHibernate: o Query optimization o Performance-aware ORM usage o Migrations
• Strong focus on performance optimization and efficient code
• Understanding of asynchronous and concurrent programming
• Experience using AI tools for development (code + test generation)
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated output
• Nice to Have
• Experience with SOAP / legacy integrations
• Docker / Kubernetes
• Observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing)
• Experience with Azure, AWS
