Job Description

About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Snowflake Administrator with strong expertise in managing, securing, and optimizing enterprise Snowflake environments. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in Snowflake administration, security, performance tuning, cost optimization, disaster recovery, and cloud integrations. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure platform stability, governance, security, and high availability while supporting mission-critical data workloads.
  • Administer and support Snowflake environments across Development, QA, UAT, and Production.
  • Manage Snowflake accounts, databases, schemas, warehouses, resource monitors, storage integrations, and external stages.
  • Configure and optimize virtual warehouses, auto-scaling, auto-suspend, and resource utilization.
  • Perform environment cloning and data refresh activities using Zero-Copy Cloning.
  • Design and implement RBAC, user provisioning, and access management.
  • Configure Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and identity provider integrations such as Okta and Azure AD.
  • Implement security controls including masking policies, row access policies, and network policies.
  • Monitor Snowflake usage, query performance, warehouse utilization, and optimize credit consumption.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while supporting incident management and on-call operations.
  • Manage Time Travel, Fail-safe, replication, failover, and disaster recovery processes.
  • Configure and support Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, and cloud-based data ingestion frameworks.
  • Collaborate with AWS, Azure, or GCP teams to implement secure cloud integrations.
  • Automate administrative tasks using Python, Shell scripting, Terraform, or Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Develop operational documentation, governance standards, and technical runbooks.
Required Skills 7+ years of overall IT experience with 4+ years of hands-on Snowflake Administration experience. Strong expertise in Snowflake Administration, Security, and RBAC implementation. Hands-on experience with warehouse management, query performance tuning, and cost optimization. Experience with Snowflake Time Travel, Zero-Copy Cloning, Replication, and Failover. Strong SQL skills for administration, troubleshooting, and performance analysis. Experience integrating Snowflake with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services. Experience with monitoring, alerting, production support, and incident management. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills SnowPro Core Certification and/or SnowPro Advanced Administrator Certification. Experience with Terraform or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools. Experience with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins. Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance frameworks. Experience supporting large-scale enterprise Snowflake environments. Experience with Python or Shell scripting for automation. Familiarity with Okta, Azure AD, and enterprise identity management solutions. Soft Skills Excellent communication and documentation skills. Strong collaboration and stakeholder management abilities. Self-driven with strong ownership and accountability. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in production support and cross-functional environments.
