Senior Qa Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with strong expertise in API Testing, Insurance Domain and Test Automation using Playwright with TypeScript. The ideal candidate will be responsible for validating end-to-end business workflows, designing automation frameworks, and ensuring high-quality software delivery across policy administration, claims, underwriting, billing, and integration systems.

The candidate should have hands-on experience in functional testing, API testing, automation framework development, CI/CD integration, and Agile delivery models.

Key Responsibilities

Functional Testing

Analyze business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Create and execute test cases, test scenarios, and test data.
• Perform System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, and UAT support.
• Validate end-to-end insurance workflows across multiple applications.
• Participate in requirement reviews and identify testability gaps.
• Defect reporting, tracking, and validation through defect lifecycle.Insurance Domain Testing
• Validate insurance business processes including:o Policy Administrationo Underwritingo Claims Managemento Billing & Paymentso Renewals & Endorsementso Broker Portal & Agency Management
• Verify rating calculations, premium validation, policy issuance, and claim processing.
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and SMEs for business validation.

API Testing

• Design and execute API test scenarios using REST APIs and Microservices
• Validate the Request/Response Payloads, Status Codes, Authentication & Authorization, Business Rules, Data Integrity, Error Handling
• Experience with Postman/Swagger/OpenAPI, REST Assured or Playwright API Testing, JSON/XML Validation
• Perform API integration testing across distributed systems.

Automation Testing (Playwright + TypeScript)

• Develop and maintain scalable automation frameworks using Playwright and TypeScript.
• Automate UI, API, Cross browser testing and regression testing
• Implement reusable page objects, fixtures, utilities, and reporting mechanisms.
• Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines.
• Generate execution reports and dashboards.

CI/CD & DevOps

• Integrate automation suites with Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions/Jenkins
• Configure automated execution pipelines.
• Support release validation and deployment testing.
• Maintain quality gates and release readiness metrics.

Test Management

• Must have hands on exposure using JIRA with Xray or ADOPreferred

Qualifications

• Experience working in Commercial Insurance or Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance.
• Experience in Guidewire, Duck Creek or similar insurance platforms

.• Knowledge of database testing using SQL.

• Experience working with Microservices Architecture.
• Understanding of Cloud technologies (Azure/AWS).Required Competencies
