Role Overview

As a Senior Product Manager New Category at Zepto, you'll drive the ideation, validation, and launch of innovative product verticals (e.g., fresh produce, OTC pharmacy, pet care, meal kits), from zero to market leader. You'll be responsible for leading cross-functional teams, building category roadmaps, and delivering on key business metrics like adoption, frequency, gross margin, and net revenue. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where your product vision becomes a defining part of Zepto's customer journey.

Roles & Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Discovery

  • Identify and size high-growth category opportunities in the quick-commerce space through market research, consumer insights, and competitive mapping.
  • Create and pitch a compelling category vision aligned with Zepto's mission and business priorities.

Customer Research & Validation

  • Lead qualitative and quantitative research (surveys, interviews, A/B tests, MVP shipping) to validate the problem statement and product-market fit.
  • Partner with user research, data science, and analytics teams to analyze usage patterns and market segments.

Roadmap & Prioritization

  • Define end-to-end product roadmap features, pricing, inventory, packaging, backend integration, and marketplace mechanics with a laser focus on unit economics.
  • Prioritize roadmap items based on customer value, reusability, profitability, and execution feasibility.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, supply chain, category merchants, marketing, and finance to ensure flawless category set-up and go-to-market.
  • Act as primary product liaison for both internal stakeholders and external partners / vendors.

Launch, Monitoring & Scale

  • Drive category launch plans: migration, learnings from pilot zones, packaging design, promotion strategy, and communication rollout.
  • Define success metrics (e.g., frequency, AOV, retention, margin) and measure performance post-launch to iterate quickly.

Growth & Optimization

  • Own continuous improvement cyclesiterative enhancements in assortment, UX, pricing, delivery promiseto improve category performance.
  • Build scalable processes for future category rollouts across regions.
