Job Summary:
The Senior Operator will be responsible for safe, efficient and continuous operation and testing of electrolyzer and hydrogen generation setup using water electrolysis at high temp / pressure. This role requires in depth knowledge of industrial gas systems, process control, safety procedures, and plant maintenance to ensure optimal plant performance and long duration testing
Your Responsibilities:
Operate and monitor equipment involved in green hydrogen production including electrolyzer, pump s, heat exchanger s, deionized water system, Gas purification unit etc.
Maintain safe and stable plant operation under varying load conditions ensuring compliance with pressure, temperature, flow, voltage, current, conductivity, gas purity and electrolyte concentration.
Operate utilities whenever needed as per Standard Operating Procedures.
Execute start-up, shutdown and emergency procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Continuously monitor process parameters through PLC and record operating data for analysis and performance optimization.
Support calibration, testing and commissioning of new or upgraded system.
Train and mentor junior operators and technicians on safe plant operation and emergency handling.
Maintain detailed shift logs, ensure availability of all required consumables and report deviations or incident promptly.
Ensure compliance with company policies
Skills you need:
Diploma or bachelor s in chemical engineering, process engineering or equivalent technical qualification
Minimum 5-8 years of hands-on experience in operating hydrogen production plants, chemical plants or similar high pressure and high temperature process facilities
Should have:
Familiarity with water electrolysis system (Alkaline or PEM), pressure vessel operations, and industrial gas handling
Sound understanding of process instrumentation, control systems (PLC) and safety interlocks
Proven skills in troubleshooting, plant optimization and emergency response
Strong safety mindset and adherence to process discipline
