Senior Network Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, implement, configure, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, and data center network infrastructure.
• Manage and troubleshoot Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto, and other networking devices.
• Configure and maintain routing and switching protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, VLANs, STP, HSRP, and VRRP.
• Administer firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, and network security solutions.
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Perform network upgrades, firmware updates, patching, and infrastructure migrations.
• Ensure high availability, redundancy, disaster recovery, and business continuity for network services.
• Diagnose and resolve L2/L3 network incidents and provide root cause analysis.
• Implement SD-WAN, wireless networking, and cloud connectivity solutions.
• Collaborate with server, cloud, security, and infrastructure teams on enterprise projects.
• Automate network administration using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or Terraform.
• Maintain network documentation, topology diagrams, SOPs, and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with security policies, ITIL processes, and industry best practices.
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and support project planning and execution.

Preferred candidate profile

• 5 to 10 years of experience in enterprise network administration and engineering.
• Strong expertise in Cisco routing and switching technologies and enterprise networking.
• Hands-on experience with BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPN, VLAN, QoS, SD-WAN, and data center networking.
• Experience managing Cisco ASA, Cisco Firepower, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or Juniper firewalls.
• Knowledge of wireless networking solutions such as Cisco Wireless or Aruba Networks.
• Familiarity with cloud networking on AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, or Wireshark.
• Proficiency in network automation using Python, Ansible, PowerShell, or Terraform.
• Understanding of network security, high availability, disaster recovery, and ITIL processes.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• CCNP certification is preferred; CCIE, PCNSE, Fortinet, JNCIP, AWS, Azure, or ITIL certifications are an added advantage.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Telecommunications, or a related engineering discipline.
