Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Power Transformer

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Transformer design to join our Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India. This role involves being part of an international design and engineering team, focusing on the mechanical design of power transformers.

Key Skills & Technologies:

• Expertise in Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software and 3D Modelling software (Creo is an advantage).
• Strong understanding of Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout, and cleats lead arrangement.
• Familiarity with IS/IEC/IEEE Standards/Canadian Standards.
• Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is beneficial.
• Proficiency in spoken & written English.

Key Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in design covering different countries.
• Responsible to generate active part and windings/ Tank & Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards.
• Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc. & submission to customer as per project schedule.
• Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics.
• Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
• Participation in internal design concept reviews.
• Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Requirements

• B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.
• 9 to 12 years of experience working in Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
• Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo is considered as an advantage.
• Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.
• Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards/Canadian Standards.
• Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is an advantage.
• Experience on Microsoft office and tools.
• Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
• Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
