Job Summary

The Liaisoning Manager is responsible for maintaining effective relationships with government departments, regulatory authorities, local administration, statutory bodies, and external stakeholders to ensure smooth business operations. The role involves obtaining statutory approvals, renewals, licenses, permits, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations while representing the organization before government authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Government Liaison

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with government departments and regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate with Central, State, and Local Government offices for approvals and clearances.
  • Represent the organization during meetings with government officials.
  • Resolve issues related to statutory permissions and regulatory matters.

Statutory Approvals & Compliance

  • Obtain and renew licenses, registrations, and statutory approvals.
  • Ensure timely submission of applications, returns, and compliance documents.
  • Monitor changes in government policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain records of all statutory approvals and renewal schedules.

Coordination with Authorities

  • Liaise with departments such as:
    • Pollution Control Board
    • Factory Inspectorate
    • Labour Department
    • Revenue Department
    • Electricity Department
    • Fire Services
    • Municipal Authorities
    • Industrial Development Authorities
    • Mining Department (where applicable)
    • Commercial Tax / GST Department
    • Police Department

Documentation

  • Prepare and submit applications, reports, affidavits, and supporting documents.
  • Maintain correspondence with government agencies.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of statutory records.

Project Support

  • Coordinate government approvals for new projects, expansions, and infrastructure development.
  • Facilitate environmental and statutory clearances.
  • Support land-related approvals and utility connections.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build positive relationships with local communities and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with consultants, legal advisors, and government agencies.
  • Address issues affecting business continuity.

MIS & Reporting

  • Prepare monthly status reports on licenses, approvals, and compliance.
  • Track pending approvals and follow up with authorities.
  • Maintain a compliance calendar for all statutory renewals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Any Discipline.
  • MBA / MPA / LLB preferred.
  • Certification in Regulatory Compliance or Corporate Affairs is an added advantage.

Experience

  • 1115 years of experience in liaisoning, administration, or corporate affairs.
  • Experience in manufacturing, steel, cement, mining, power, infrastructure, or industrial sectors is preferred.
