Senior Manager - Costing (7-12 yrs)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager Costing to lead the organization's costing and plant finance function within a large-scale manufacturing environment. The role will be responsible for driving cost optimization initiatives, managing product costing, budgeting, inventory valuation, and financial analysis while partnering with business and manufacturing teams to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end product costing, standard costing, and manufacturing cost accounting processes.

- Develop, maintain, and review standard costs, ensuring accuracy across products and manufacturing units.

- Monitor manufacturing costs, analyze cost trends, and recommend initiatives to improve margins.

- Manage inventory accounting, inventory valuation, and stock reconciliation in accordance with accounting standards.

- Oversee Bill of Materials (BOM) costing and ensure timely updates for new and existing products.

- Prepare annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and cost projections for manufacturing operations.

- Conduct detailed variance analysis covering material, labor, overhead, production, and inventory variances.

- Publish periodic MIS reports and provide actionable insights to leadership for business decision-making.

- Partner with plant operations, procurement, supply chain, and commercial teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.

- Ensure accurate financial reporting related to manufacturing and inventory accounting.

- Drive cost optimization initiatives across procurement, production, logistics, and operations.

- Strengthen internal financial controls and ensure compliance with accounting policies and statutory requirements.

- Support internal audits, statutory audits, and cost audits by providing accurate financial data and documentation.

- Utilize SAP FI/CO and BI reporting tools to automate reporting and enhance financial visibility.

- Monitor working capital related to inventory and manufacturing operations.

- Mentor and lead the costing team while driving continuous process improvements.

Eligibility:

- CA or CMA qualification is mandatory.

- 7-12 years of experience in manufacturing costing, plant finance, or cost accounting.

- Experience in listed product-based manufacturing companies is mandatory.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, inventory accounting, and cost optimization.

- Hands-on experience with SAP FI/CO is essential.

- Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and leadership skills.
