Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead manpower planning and talent acquisition: support budgeting, forecast workforce needs, assess deployment gaps, and maintain optimal staffing levels.
  • Partner with line managers to identify and implement productivity and operational improvements.
  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, payroll-related transactions, transfers, and exits.
  • Provide proactive employee-relations consultation to people managers; advise and support on disciplinary matters, performance improvement plans, grievances, and conflict resolution.
  • Own governance of HR policies and provide guidance to managers and employees on workplace practices and policy interpretation.
  • Ensure statutory, regulatory, and process compliance: oversee timely filing of returns, respond to authorities queries/notices, and ensure contractor compliance with statutory and safety obligations.
  • Coach and enable managers through goal setting, performance appraisals, and ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Handle employee queries and grievances in a timely, confidential, and compliant manner.
  • Drive employee engagement initiatives and coordinate developmental interventions in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Supervise and provide direction to the HR team at the plant (or location), ensuring effective delivery of HR services.
  • Prepare, collate, and present periodic HR MIS, reports, and workforce analytics to inform business decisions.
  • Monitor and manage contract labour availability and contractor adherence to statutory and safety requirements.

DESIRED SKILLS

  • Should have experience of managing end-to-end HR operations at plant
  • Strong skills in manpower planning, recruitment, and workforce deployment.
  • Experience in performance management, talent development, and employee engagement.
  • Good employee relations and grievance-handling skills.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to use HR MIS / analytics for reporting and decision-making.
  • Knowledge of plant safety, GMP, and compliance-driven manufacturing environments.
  • Graduate / PG in HR or equivalent, with significant experience in plant HR, preferably in pharma.
