Senior Java Developer

Client and Project

The client is a large asset management firm. This opportunity is for a retainer program. The ask is to have a Full-stack development team.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or similar; Master's degree in Computer Science
• 5+ years of experience designing, and developing backend applications, serverless, Micro-services, REST APIs
• Experience in serverless, Lambda development , Glue jobs
• Experience in working in a SCRUM team 
• Coding preferably full stack development or experience with most of the technologies listed below
• Ability to analyze legacy application
• Experience in agile methodology 
• Attention to detail
• familiarity with Claude Code, Github Copilot

Tech Skills:

• Primary
• Java, Springboot, Micro-services, API
• Cloud AWS ( EC2, DynamoDB, Cloudwatch, SNS, SQS, Lambda, and other frequently used AWS services)
• Kubernetes, Kafka
• Monitoring – Splunk
• Testing – Cucumber, API Testing Tools 
• Secondary (Nice to have)

Role and Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain front-end code
• Backend, serverless Lambda, APIs development
• Implement quick prototypes 
• Unit testing, performance testing
• Conduct code reviews 
• Follow practices: code review, unit testing, CI, and other best practices 
• Participate in SCRUM ceremonies 
• Participate in estimation and planning sessions
• Mentor other developers and collaborate with peers.
• Work with stakeholders including the Product, Enablement, and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their Data infrastructure needs.
