Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Java Developer to join our growing offshore team supporting the Supply Chain track for a major US-based specialty retailer. This role involves working on a variety of small-to-medium-sized projects within a modern microservices environment. You will be part of an expanding team of over 10 professionals, contributing to high-impact retail and logistics solutions.

Essential functions

  • Develop and Maintain Services: Build and scale robust applications using Java 17 and the Spring Framework.

  • Reactive Programming: Implement asynchronous and non-blocking logic using Spring WebFlux.

  • API Development: Design and build high-performance RESTful APIs.

  • Data Management: Work with a mix of SQL and NoSQL databases (such as Oracle and Cassandra) and manage relational data modeling via JPA.

  • Architecture & Messaging: Apply microservices principles and utilize Kafka (or similar message brokers) for event-driven communication.

  • CI/CD & Versioning: Manage project builds using Maven or Gradle and maintain code integrity through Git.

Qualifications

  • 4 7 years of work experience.

  • Strong Proficiency in Java 17: Deep understanding of modern Java features and syntax.

  • Spring Framework Expertise: Solid hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Data.

  • Reactive Programming: 6 12 months of dedicated experience with Spring WebFlux.

  • Database Knowledge: Proficiency in both relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) database environments.

  • Architectural Understanding: Familiarity with microservices architecture and message brokers (Kafka).

  • Build Tools: Confident use of Maven/Gradle and Git.

Would be a plus

  • Hands-on experience building RESTful APIs
  • Working experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Cassandra)
  • Understanding of microservices architecture principles
  • Experience working with Kafka or similar message brokers
  • Experience with JPA and relational data modeling
  • Confident use of Maven or Gradle, and Git for version control
