Position: Linux System Administrator
Location: Kolkata

Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Linux System Administrator to manage, maintain, and support
Linux-based infrastructure along with VMware vSphere operations. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise
in Linux administration, virtualization technologies, system monitoring, troubleshooting, and infrastructure management.
The role requires excellent technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities to ensure high system availability,
security, and performance.

Key Responsibilities:
Administer, monitor, and maintain Linux servers to ensure high availability, reliability, and optimal system
performance.
Install, configure, upgrade, and manage Linux/Unix operating systems and related software.
Perform routine system maintenance, patch management, and security updates.
Manage user accounts, system permissions, and access controls in line with organizational policies.
Monitor system health, performance, and proactively troubleshoot issues.
Troubleshoot hardware, software, network, ESXi, and vCenter-related issues.
Configure and manage network services such as DNS, DHCP, SSH, and FTP.
Implement and monitor backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
Enforce system security policies, firewall configurations, and vulnerability mitigation practices.
Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation tools for system administration tasks.
Collaborate with internal teams for deployment, system integration, and infrastructure support activities.
Maintain proper documentation for system configurations, procedures, and operational activities.

VMware vSphere Responsibilities:
VM provisioning and deployment.
CPU, memory, and disk resource allocation and expansion.
Snapshot creation, management, and maintenance.
Datastore management and monitoring.
ESXi and vCenter troubleshooting and administration.
VM health monitoring and performance optimization.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Strong hands-on experience with Linux/Unix operating systems such as Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, etc.
Strong knowledge of Linux system administration and server management.
Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere environment and virtualization operations.
Experience with VM provisioning, resource management, snapshots, and datastore operations.
Strong troubleshooting skills in ESXi and vCenter environments.
Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash or similar).
Good understanding of networking fundamentals and system security practices.
Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning tools.
Familiarity with virtualization and cloud environments is preferred.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
