Job Description
Key Responsibilities.
Actively guide and collaborate with the design and engineering teams to ensure products are designed in compliance with current and upcoming regulations.
Provide regular training and updates to the design and engineering teams on regulatory changes and their implications on product design and engineering.
Review design and engineering proposals and provide feedback on potential compliance issues, suggesting modifications as necessary.
Collaborate closely with the design and engineering teams during the product development phase to ensure seamless integration of regulatory requirements.
Lead type approval applications and execute testing against domestic and international standards.
Analyze and interpret testing results, providing solutions for problems encountered during homologation tests in a timely manner.
Stay conversant with the homologation process for domestic markets, especially for Electric Vehicles.
Plan and execute vehicle certification activities for all base and variant models concerning components, systems, and the whole vehicle.
Study various engineering changes, perform impact analysis, and plan testing & homologation accordingly.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of designs, test results, and analysis for future reference and development.
Coordinate with testing agencies for the completion of homologation and pre-homologation tests at both the vehicle and component levels.
Break down the homologation requirements and ensure adherence in components.
Work on AIS standards formulations and stay updated with requirements for vehicle testing as per Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS).
Keep management and product teams up to date with changes and anticipated changes in regulations.
Qualifications And Skills.
Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering.
Minimum 5 years of experience in homologation and regulatory compliance, ideally within the two-wheeler industry.
Strong knowledge of EV and Powertrain components like batteries, motor, controller, etc Proficiency in understanding international test standards like ISO, IEC, SAE, JASO, and ECE regulations.
Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to manage projects from concept to completion, meeting strict deadlines and quality standards.
