Job Description
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Executive Store to manage and control the inventory of capital equipment during the project phase and consumables during regular plant operations . The ideal candidate should possess strong knowledge of storekeeping practices, inventory control systems, material handling, and ERP systems in a process industry environment.
Key Responsibilities:
During Project Phase:
- Manage receipt, inspection, and safe storage of capital equipment, project materials, and bulk deliveries.
- Coordinate with the project and engineering teams for timely issuance of materials as per BOQs and construction schedules.
- Ensure proper tagging, coding, and documentation of all capital items.
- Maintain records of GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes) , MRNs (Material Requisition Notes), and delivery challans.
- Organize and track third-party inspection and vendor documents.
During Plant Operations:
- Oversee daily inventory management of consumables, spare parts, tools, lubricants, and safety equipment .
- Implement minimum and maximum stock levels , reorder levels, and maintain buffer stocks as per plant requirement.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and stock audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate with the maintenance and production departments for timely availability of critical items.
- Handle vendor coordination for timely replenishment and material follow-ups.
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP/SAP or other inventory management systems.
- Ensure proper storage conditions, shelf life monitoring, and FIFO/FEFO practices.
- Ensure adherence to company s SOPs, safety standards, and 5S practices in the store area.
- Prepare reports on stock status, discrepancies, slow-moving/obsolete items, and consumption trends.
- Support procurement and finance teams with documentation for audits and reconciliations.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Graduate / Diploma in Materials Management / Supply Chain / Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in store/inventory management in process industry.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/MM, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of capital equipment handling, inspection protocols, and consumable categorization.
- Familiarity with safety and statutory compliance requirements for materials storage.
Preferred Certifications:
- Certification in Inventory Management or SAP-MM Preferred
- Safety and Fire Handling Training Desirable
