Job Description
Job Description – Estimation Engineer Department: Estimation / Proposals Key Responsibilities
1. Estimation & Costing
Prepare cost estimates for equipment like heat exchangers, pressure vessels, columns, reactors, tanks, etc. Calculate material requirements (plates, pipes, tubes, forgings, fittings).
Estimate fabrication hours, welding hours, NDT, machining, painting, and testing.
Prepare BOQ and costing sheets.
2. Technical Proposal Preparation
Read and understand customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, data sheets.
Prepare technical offers and compliance sheets.
Highlight deviations and clarifications to customers.
3. Coordination
Coordinate with design, procurement, and production teams for inputs.
Take vendor quotations for bought-out items.
Support the sales team during techno-commercial discussions.
4. Documentation
Maintain estimation records, previous costing data, and learning sheets.
Prepare project cost summaries and assist in pricing strategies. Skills Required
Strong understanding of fabrication of heavy equipment.
Knowledge of ASME, TEMA, IBR, and basic design codes.
Good in Excel and basic engineering calculations.
Ability to read drawings (GA, fabrication, isometrics).
Good communication and coordination skills.
