Senior Engineer/Engineer

Job Description
Position Title: Engineer/Sr. Engineer Production dept.
Reports to Prod. Head
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Operations
Production Planning & Execution

• Execute daily production plans to achieve production targets, quality, and delivery commitments.
• Monitor production performance against plan and take corrective actions to eliminate deviations.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machines, and materials.
• Conduct Sunrise Meetings to review safety, quality, production, delivery, and manpower.

Process Control

• Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, Control Plans, Work Instructions, and process parameters.
• Monitor machine parameters and ensure process compliance.
• Ensure product traceability, FIFO implementation, and barcode scanning compliance.
• Coordinate production changeovers with minimum downtime.

Productivity & Continuous Improvement

• Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and productivity.
• Reduce cycle time, downtime, and manufacturing losses.
• Drive Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Monitor First Pass Yield (FPY) and implement corrective actions.

Material & Internal Logistics Coordination

• Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packing materials, and consumables for production.
• Coordinate material movement between Stores, Production, Quality, and Dispatch.
• Ensure FIFO/FEFO compliance and material traceability through barcode scanning.
• Monitor WIP, Semi-Finished Goods, Finished Goods, rejection, and scrap movements.
• Coordinate with Stores for inventory accuracy and timely SAP transactions.

Inward Material Coordination

• Coordinate inward material verification with the Quality team.
• Ensure only approved materials are released for production.
• Support incoming material inspection and supplier-related quality activities.
• Coordinate disposition of rejected materials and supplier returns.

Production Monitoring

• Review hourly production against targets.
• Analyze downtime and implement preventive actions.
• Monitor machine utilization and line balancing.
• Support implementation and effective utilization of SAP and MES systems.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and customer-specific requirements.
• Maintain 5S and shop-floor discipline.
• Ensure mandatory PPE compliance.
• Support Internal, Customer, and Certification Audits.
• Ensure adherence to EHS requirements and safe working practices.

People Management

• Lead and motivate production operators and FTAs.
• Conduct skill matrix evaluation and competency development.
• Plan manpower allocation and shift management.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Support operator training and certification programs.
• Develop multi-skilled operators.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech./Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Engineering, or Production Engineering.
