Senior Engineer

Role & responsibilities:

Mechanical Maintenance

• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all plant equipment.
• Ensure maximum equipment availability and minimize downtime.
• Prepare and implement maintenance schedules for critical equipment.
• Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements for reliability.

Equipment Maintenance

Maintain and supervise maintenance of:

• Limestone Crusher
• Raw Mill
• Kiln
• Preheater & Calciner
• Clinker Cooler
• Cement Mill
• Coal Mill
• Packing Plant
• Belt Conveyors
• Bucket Elevators
• Fans & Blowers
• Gearboxes
• Pumps
• Compressors
• Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems

Shutdown Planning

• Plan and execute annual and planned shutdown activities.
• Coordinate with Production, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement teams.
• Ensure shutdown jobs are completed safely within the scheduled timeline.
• Prepare shutdown reports and closure documents.

Reliability & Condition Monitoring

• Conduct vibration analysis, temperature monitoring, oil analysis, and equipment inspections.
• Identify recurring failures and implement Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Recommend corrective and preventive actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Monitor MTBF, MTTR, and equipment reliability KPIs.

Spare Parts & Inventory Management

• Monitor availability of critical spare parts.
• Prepare spare parts indents and technical specifications.
• Optimize inventory while ensuring plant reliability.
• Verify quality of received spares before installation.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, Permit to Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and confined space requirements.
• Conduct toolbox talks before maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by maintenance personnel and contractors.
• Participate in safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.

Team Supervision

• Supervise technicians, fitters, welders, and contractor manpower.
• Allocate daily maintenance jobs and monitor work quality.
• Train junior engineers and technicians on maintenance best practices.
• Evaluate contractor performance during maintenance activities.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and energy savings.
• Participate in Kaizen, TPM, 5S, and reliability improvement initiatives.
• Suggest equipment modifications to improve productivity and reduce maintenance costs.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain maintenance history and equipment records in the CMMS/SAP system.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
• Record equipment breakdowns, repair history, and spare consumption.
• Maintain statutory and audit-related maintenance documentation.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Coordinate with Production for maintenance planning.
• Work with Electrical and Instrumentation teams during shutdowns and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for procurement of spare parts.
• Assist Projects team during installation and commissioning of new equipment

Preferred candidate profile

Only cement industry prefered with 3 to 4 years experience as Engineer or Assistant Engineer
