Senior DevOps Engineer

Role & responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Develop, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or similar tools to enable seamless application deployments.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor application performance, infrastructure health, and system availability using Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, Splunk, or similar monitoring tools.
• Collaborate with Development, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams to streamline software delivery and operational processes.
• Ensure high availability, scalability, disaster recovery, backup strategies, and business continuity for production environments.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis (RCA), and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime.
• Implement DevSecOps best practices, including infrastructure security, vulnerability management, secrets management, and compliance.
• Manage Linux servers, networking components, load balancers, DNS, SSL certificates, and cloud networking services.
• Maintain version control repositories using Git and support branching, release, and deployment strategies.
• Optimize cloud infrastructure costs and improve system performance through automation and resource management.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
• Mentor junior DevOps engineers and contribute to DevOps standards, best practices, and continuous process improvements.

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 5 to 10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), or Platform Engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Expertise in Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and release management.
• Proficiency in Linux administration and scripting using Shell/Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Good understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, SSL/TLS, IAM, VPN, DNS, load balancing, and cloud networking.
• Experience with Git-based version control systems including GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve production issues effectively.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevSecOps practices.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
• Relevant cloud or DevOps certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP, CKA, CKAD, Terraform Associate) will be an added advantage.
