Job Summary
As a Senior Data Modeler , you bring deep hands-on data modeling expertise to deliver high quality data models in support of key initiatives. This role is focused on technical execution, design quality, and timely delivery of data modeling artifacts across multiple workstreams. You will work closely with data engineering, architecture, analytics, and product teams to design and refine data models that are accurate, scalable, and aligned with established standards. You are comfortable working independently within agile squads, contributing to design discussions, and iterating quickly based on feedback. This role emphasizes hands-on modeling and collaboration, with limited people management responsibility. Workplace Investing Technology is responsible for building and sustaining the core platforms that support retirement and workplace investment businesses. These platforms span record keeping, master data management, analytics, and decision support capabilities that enable accurate, timely, and compliant operations. The Data Modeling role supports these platforms by ensuring data structures and logic are clearly defined, well designed, and technically implementable. This role works closely with engineering and architecture teams to translate requirements into data models that can be efficiently built and operated within enterprise data platforms. We are looking for an experienced data modeler who can work effectively in a delivery-oriented, fast-paced environment, collaborate across multiple teams, and contribute high quality modeling artifacts with minimal oversight. Candidate must have relevant experience of 10+ years of overall IT experience with 5+ years of hands-on data modeling experience supporting large scale data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Data Modeler, you will be responsible for:
Partnering with engineering, architecture, analytics, and product teams to translate requirements into clear and well-structured data models. Designing and updating conceptual, logical, and physical data models in alignment with enterprise standards. Supporting multiple squads by delivering modeling artifacts on time and addressing design questions early in the development lifecycle. Participating in design reviews and architecture discussions to ensure accuracy and technical feasibility. Applying established data modeling and engineering practices consistently across
deliverables. Helping reduce risk and rework by ensuring data structures and logic are clearly documented and implementable. Supporting governance and approval processes by responding to review feedback and incorporating revisions as needed. Ensuring data structures and logic are clearly defined, well designed, and technically implementable to support enterprise data platforms. Translating business and technical requirements into data models that can be efficiently built and operated within enterprise data platforms. Contributing high quality modeling artifacts with minimal oversight in a delivery-oriented, fast-paced environment. Collaborating across multiple teams, including data engineering, architecture, analytics, and product, to align data models with platform and business needs. Supporting Workplace Investing Technology platforms that span record keeping, master data management, analytics, and decision support capabilities to enable accurate, timely, and compliant operations.

The Skills that are Key to this role:
Strong hands-on experience in data modeling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers, including 3NF and dimensional modeling. Experience modeling complex logic, rules, and supporting metadata in a data-driven manner. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret requirements and translate them into implementable data designs. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and architecture teams. Ability to operate productively in environments with evolving requirements and iterative feedback. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to data design and structure. Clear written and verbal communication skills focused on explaining design intent and addressing technical questions. Practical, data-driven approach to design decisions and trade-offs. Working knowledge of SQL and modern data platforms, including cloud-based and NoSQL data stores. Working knowledge of at least one data modeling tool such as PowerDesigner, ERwin, Hackolade, or equivalent. Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools, using them to improve productivity and documentation quality where appropriate.

Qualifications and Skills
10+ years of overall IT experience. 5+ years of hands-on data modeling experience supporting large scale data platforms. Bachelor s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. Strong foundation in data engineering, data analytics, and technical data modeling. Experience as a Senior Data Engineer and/or Senior BI Developer in data and analytics environments, preferably within DA&A or similar domains. Ability to support Workplace Investments (WI) Data Engineering initiatives within a global delivery model.
