Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled Power BI Developer with 35 years of experience in Business Intelligence and Data Analytics. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in Power BI and SQL, with exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and PySpark. The role involves designing scalable reporting solutions, building semantic models, developing data pipelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality analytics solutions.

Primary Skills

• Power BI
  • Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports.
  • Develop robust semantic models using dimensional modelling and star schema principles.
  • Create complex DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query (M) transformations.
  • Optimize report performance and implement Row-Level Security (RLS).
  • Publish, manage, and troubleshoot reports in Power BI Service, including workspaces, apps, gateways, and scheduled refresh.
• SQL
• Strong proficiency in SQL with experience in writing complex queries, stored procedures, views, CTEs, and window functions.
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and query optimization.
• Good understanding of relational databases and data modelling concepts.

Secondary Skills

• Microsoft Fabric
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric components such as Lakehouse, Data Factory, OneLake, Data Warehouse, and Semantic Models.
• Basic understanding of data ingestion, transformation, and reporting within the Fabric ecosystem.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, deployment pipelines, and workspace management is an advantage.
• Azure Data Factory (ADF)
• Experience building and monitoring ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Knowledge of linked services, datasets, triggers, and data movement across multiple sources.
• PySpark
• Working knowledge of PySpark for data transformation and processing.
• Experience with DataFrames, ETL development, and handling structured data.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic models.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytics requirements.
• Write optimized SQL queries to support reporting and data analysis.
• Build and maintain ETL pipelines using ADF and support data transformation using PySpark where required.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across BI solutions.
• Perform unit testing, support UAT, and resolve production issues.
• Prepare technical documentation and follow established development standards.
• Work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 35 years of hands-on experience in Power BI and SQL development.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and BI best practices.
• Exposure to Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, and PySpark.
• Experience working with Azure-based data platforms is preferred.
• Knowledge of Git/Azure DevOps and CI/CD practices is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with business and technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver within project timelines.

Preferred Certifications

• Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300)
• Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600) Preferred
