Senior Data Architect

Sai Life Sciences is hiring a Senior Data Architect to design, build, and govern scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms across our scientific research, development, and manufacturing operations. As one of India's fastest-growing CRDMOs, the quality and reliability of our data underpin everything we deliver.

You will provide technical leadership across enterprise data architecture, working with scientific, engineering, and digital teams to define standards and deliver data solutions that are robust, compliant, and built to scale.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and implement scalable data architectures that support the organization's business goals, ensuring data platforms are robust, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards.
• Develop data models, define data standards and guidelines, and establish processes for data integration, migration, and management across the organization.
• Define pipeline architecture for both batch & real time/near real time processing using technologies such as spark, kafka etc. along with setting up of pipeline monitoring standards including logging, alerting etc.
• Create and maintain data dictionaries and metadata frameworks that provide clarity, context, and consistency across the organization's data assets.
• Design and govern a data lake architecture with clear data promotion rules, retention policies & access controls and security measures to protect sensitive data.
• Design and implement scalable and fault tolerant ETL processes across large-scale environments using orchestration frameworks such as Airflow/Dagster etc.
• Collaborate with database administrators, data analysts, and developers to ensure data architecture is integrated and aligned with broader technology systems.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data management, evaluating their potential impact and applicability to the organization's data ecosystem.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 10+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering with a strong track record of delivering enterprise-grade solutions.
• Proficiency in SQL and database management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and familiarity with data lake & warehousing principles.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP and their associated data services.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex data challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Knowledge of distributed computing, parallel processing, or real-time streaming technologies such as Apache Kafka or Apache Flink.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
• Certification in relevant data engineering or database management disciplines.
