Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of data orchestration and transformation solutions using Dagster and dbt within a Snowflake environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of data architecture principles, a strong background in Snowflake, and a passion for optimizing data workflows.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement data orchestration solutions using Dagster, focusing on Software-Defined Assets (SDAs) to manage data state and dependencies.
- Utilize dbt for version-controlled SQL-based transformations, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices such as modularity, testing, and documentation.
- Develop reusable frameworks that abstract common patterns for error handling, metadata logging, and schema evolution.
- Leverage Snowflake s compute isolation to optimize data ingestion and transformation processes across Raw, Curated, and Product layers.
- Establish unified lineage and observability by integrating Dagster s orchestration with dbt s manifest files for end-to-end data traceability.
- Conduct critical evaluations of DataOps processes, identifying bottlenecks and automating workflows through CI/CD integration and automated testing.
Mandatory Skills:
- Extensive experience with Snowflake architecture and best practices.
- Proficiency in Dagster for data orchestration.
- Strong knowledge of dbt for data transformation.
- Experience in designing reusable frameworks and libraries for data workflows.
- Ability to implement observability and lineage tracking in data pipelines.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.
- Experience in data governance and compliance.
- Knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven track record of leading data architecture projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
