In data analysis at PwC, you will focus on utilising advanced analytical techniques to extract insights from large datasets and drive data-driven decision-making. You will leverage skills in data manipulation, visualisation, and statistical modelling to support clients in solving complex business problems.
Snowflake Developer or Data Engineer is responsible for designing, building, and optimizing cloud-based data warehousing and analytics solutions using the Snowflake platform. Professionals in this role focus on data ingestion, ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipeline creation, query performance tuning, and ensuring strict data security and governance.
Responsibilities
- Data Modeling & Architecture: Design and implement robust data models and schemas within Snowflake.
- Pipeline Development: Build and maintain scalable data pipelines using Snowflake SQL, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks, Python, or Snowpark.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune data warehouses, storage, and SQL queries for cost-efficiency and maximum speed.
- Data Security & Governance: Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), data masking, row-level security, and secure data sharing.
- Integration: Work with cloud environments like AWS, Azure, or GCP and integrate Snowflake with third-party ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Matillion).
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Database & SQL Expertise: Deep understanding of relational databases, advanced SQL, and data warehousing principles.
- Programming Languages: Proficiency in Python or JavaScript is typically required for advanced data transformations and scripting.
- Cloud Experience: Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform).
- Experience Level: Depending on the specific role, positions typically require between 5 to 8 years of dedicated data engineering or Snowflake-specific experience
