About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to join our pharmaceutical business, playing a central role in company-wide financial planning and cross-functional reporting. This role owns the annual budgeting process end-to-end and is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimising Power BI reporting across Sales, Procurement, Demand Planning & Supply Chain, Market Access, and Finance functions.
This is a high-visibility position requiring close collaboration with senior stakeholders across commercial, operational, and financial teams, translating complex data into actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Budgeting & Financial Planning
- Create, own, and maintain the company's annual budget, working closely with Finance and department heads.
- Support budget forecasting, variance analysis, and periodic reviews to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Consolidate inputs from multiple business functions into a single, accurate, and well-governed budget model.
Business Intelligence & Reporting
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports across:
- Sales
- Procurement
- Demand Planning & Supply Chain
- Market Access
- Finance
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and timeliness across all reporting outputs.
- Partner with stakeholders in each function to gather requirements and translate business questions into effective, self-service reporting solutions.
- Continuously improve report performance, usability, and data models (e.g., star schema design, DAX optimisation).
Data Management & Governance
- Leverage Microsoft Fabric for data integration, pipeline management, and unified analytics across data sources.
- Maintain data quality standards, documentation, and version control for all reporting assets.
- Support the wider data governance framework, ensuring compliance with pharma industry data handling standards.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted analytics partner to Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Market Access, and Finance leadership.
- Present insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and reduce manual effort across teams.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (data modelling, DAX, Power Query, report/dashboard design).
- Practical experience with Microsoft Fabric.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional data (Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain/Demand Planning, Market Access, Finance) pharma industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to senior stakeholders.
Desirable
- Python for data manipulation, automation, or advanced analytics.
- SQL for querying and managing relational databases.
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry regulations, terminology, or commercial models.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Business, Statistics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2+ years of experience in a data analyst / BI analyst role, ideally within pharma, life sciences, or a similarly regulated industry.
