About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Data Analyst with a strong background in Python, SQL, and modern data infrastructure. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the data-driven credit strategy of our lending business. You ll work closely with credit, product, and engineering teams to ensure that financial data is accessible, reliable, and actionable ultimately influencing underwriting, portfolio health, and risk outcomes.
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Senior Data Analyst with a strong background in Python, SQL, and modern data infrastructure. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping the data-driven credit strategy of our lending business. You ll work closely with credit, product, and engineering teams to ensure that financial data is accessible, reliable, and actionable ultimately influencing underwriting, portfolio health, and risk outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Build optimized SQL queries to analyze lending data, including bureau reports, GST filings, payment history, bank statements, and alternate financial sources.
- Develop automated Python pipelines for credit underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and risk analytics.
- Work with PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and other OLAP systems to manage large-scale structured and semi-structured datasets.
- Design and maintain Metabase dashboards to track key credit metrics such as approval rates, repayment behavior, and delinquencies.
- Optimize performance using columnar file formats (e.g., Parquet, ORC) and advanced data compression techniques (e.g., Snappy, Zstandard, LZ4).
- Integrate bank statement analyzers to extract income, cash flow, and affordability insights.
- Collaborate with credit and product teams to validate data models and ensure data integrity across underwriting and reporting layers.
- Perform deep-dive analyses on bureau, GST, payment, and alternate data to support high-quality lending decisions.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst, BI, or similar role ideally within fintech or lending domains.
- Proficiency in Python for data wrangling, scripting, and workflow automation.
- Strong expertise in SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
- Experience working with PostgreSQL and at least one OLAP database (e.g., ClickHouse, Redshift, BigQuery, Druid, etc.).
- Practical knowledge of columnar storage formats (Parquet, ORC) and their impact on storage/query performance.
- Familiarity with data codecs and compression algorithms like Snappy, Zstandard, and LZ4.
- Hands-on experience with Metabase: dashboard creation, filtering, embedding, and performance tuning.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn complex financial datasets into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or dbt.
- Understanding of data warehousing and ETL/ELT frameworks.
- Exposure to cloud-based data platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
