Senior Cloud Engineer - Terraform

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our dynamic IMS Consulting Team at GDC Hyderabad, India, is seeking Senior Principal Consultants to lead global infrastructure, cloud, automation, and systems administration initiatives.

As a Principal Consultant, you will serve as a Terraform and Systems Administration Subject Matter Expert (SME), driving technical excellence across customer engagements. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing scalable infrastructure solutions using Terraform, cloud technologies, automation, Linux/Windows administration, networking, security, and enterprise infrastructure best practices.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Design, develop, and maintain Terraform configurations and reusable modules to provision and manage infrastructure across AWS, OCI, and on-premises environments.
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) pipelines, integrating Terraform with CI/CD platforms to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, validation, and lifecycle management.
• Proficient in version control using Git, with hands-on experience managing repositories, branching strategies (e.g., feature branching, GitFlow), pull requests, and code reviews within Bitbucket
• Provision, configure, patch, upgrade, and troubleshoot Linux and Windows servers across development, testing, and production environments.
• Automate day-to-day infrastructure activities using Terraform, Ansible, shell scripting, and other automation tools, reducing manual operational effort and improving consistency.
• Implement and maintain AWS and OCI infrastructure, including compute, networking, storage, IAM, security, load balancing, and highly available architectures.
• Perform infrastructure migrations, upgrades, modernization, and environment builds, including planning, execution, validation, and post-migration support.
• Manage and troubleshoot networking, DNS, storage, monitoring, backup, security, and high-availability components within enterprise environments.
• Design and implement backup, disaster recovery, and resiliency solutions, and participate in failover and recovery testing to validate business continuity.
• Monitor infrastructure health and performance, investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Work with customer and internal teams to assess requirements, develop technical solutions, perform implementation activities, and provide technical guidance and architectural recommendations.
• Participate in on-call, incident, change, and problem-management activities, ensuring timely resolution of infrastructure issues and adherence to operational standards.
• Continuously identify opportunities to standardize, automate, optimize, and improve infrastructure operations across customer environments.

WHAT YOU NEED FOR THIS POSITION

• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for designing, provisioning, managing, and automating enterprise infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.
• Extensive experience administering Linux and Windows server environments, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and lifecycle management.
• Expertise in developing and maintaining Terraform modules, reusable configurations, state management, and automated infrastructure deployment workflows following enterprise best practices.
• Strong experience with AWS and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including compute, networking, storage, security, IAM, and highly available infrastructure architectures.
• Hands-on experience with configuration management and automation tools such as Ansible, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning and operational tasks.
• Proven experience with infrastructure migration, modernization, consolidation, and disaster recovery initiatives across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, load balancing, DNS, storage, monitoring, backup, and high-availability solutions in large-scale enterprise environments.
• Experience with Bare Metal and virtualized infrastructure deployments, including system provisioning, OS configuration, capacity planning, and operational support.
• Excellent troubleshooting, performance tuning, automation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex infrastructure issues in large-scale production environments.
• Ability to lead customer engagements, provide architectural recommendations, mentor technical teams, and deliver high-impact consulting outcomes for global clients.
