About Ampity Infotech

Ampity Infotech is a cloud and DevOps engineering firm that helps growing companies design, build, and operate production-grade infrastructure on AWS. We work directly with client engineering and leadership teams to deliver secure, automated, and cost-efficient cloud platforms, and we stay accountable for how that infrastructure performs after it ships.

Role Summary

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will own AWS infrastructure for client engagements end to end. You will use Terraform to codify infrastructure, operate Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) for container workloads, and build the automation and observability that keeps production systems reliable and cost-efficient. This is a hands-on, production-ownership role: you are accountable not just for what you build, but for what happens after it ships, including incidents, scaling, and cost.

What You'll Own

  • Design and provision AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, EKS, IAM, networking, serverless) using Terraform, following Infrastructure-as-Code standards and modular, reusable design.
  • Build, operate, and scale Kubernetes clusters (Amazon EKS), including workload deployment, autoscaling, RBAC, and cluster observability.
  • Own CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline) for automated build, test, and deployment across environments.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus/Grafana, or equivalent) so issues are caught before clients feel them.
  • Drive cloud cost optimization (FinOps) across compute, storage, and networking without compromising reliability.
  • Apply security best practices across IAM policy design, network segmentation, secrets management, and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate technical trade-offs, risk, and status clearly to both engineering peers and client stakeholders.
  • Produce implementation notes and handover documentation so knowledge stays with the team, not locked in one person's head.
  • Participate in incident response, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews for systems you own.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience with AWS in production environments.
  • Strong working expertise with Terraform for infrastructure as code, including module design and remote state management.
  • Production experience running and operating Kubernetes, ideally Amazon EKS.
  • Solid scripting or programming ability (Python, Go, or Bash) for automation and tooling.
  • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Working knowledge of core networking concepts: VPC design, security groups, load balancing, and DNS.
  • Familiarity with a monitoring or observability stack such as CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable using AI-assisted development tools to move faster, with the judgment to verify their output before it reaches production.

Nice to Have

  • AWS Certification: Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator (Associate or Professional).
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent.
  • Experience with GitOps tooling (ArgoCD, Flux) or service mesh (Istio, Linkerd).
  • Exposure to multi-account AWS Organizations, Control Tower, or landing zone design.
  • Prior experience in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment.

What We Value

Ampity looks for engineers who have experienced what happens after a system ships, not just how to ship it. In practice, that means we weigh these traits heavily in this role:

  • Production ownership you understand incidents, cost, scaling, and maintenance, not just initial delivery.
  • Trade-off reasoning — you compare options for a client's actual constraints rather than reciting best practices.
  • Clarity — you can explain a decision, including its uncertainty, to an engineer and to a CFO.
  • Simplicity — you reduce unnecessary complexity and know when not to build.
  • Knowledge transfer — you make clients and teammates stronger rather than accumulating private expertise.
