Role & Responsibilities

• Architect and refactor backend system services, background workers, and Windows Services (.NET 8/.NET Core, C#) to manage device lifecycles
• Integrate vendor SDKs, native APIs, and drivers for hardware peripherals (card readers, thermal printers, scanners)
• Build low-latency communication layers using Serial (RS-232/COM), USB, HID, TCP/IP, and Win32/UWP APIs
• Engineer fault-tolerant state machines, error handling, and auto-reconnection logic for production uptime
• Modularize legacy device drivers into clean, testable service abstractions
• Ensure peripheral data flows comply with PCI standards and hardware-level encryption

Preferred Candidate Profile

• 5+ years backend engineering experience with C# / .NET (.NET Core, .NET 8, .NET Framework)
• Proven experience integrating physical hardware, peripherals, or IoT devices via vendor SDKs
• Strong background in Windows Services, multithreading, and async messaging architectures
• Familiarity with I/O protocols: Serial/COM, USB, HID, TCP/IP, Win32 APIs
• Experience testing hardware abstraction layers (unit/integration), DI, Git-based CI/CD
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field
• Prior industry exposure to POS/Retail Tech, Fintech/Payments, or IoT/Embedded Systems preferred
• Nice-to-have: POS/EMV/PCI-DSS experience, C/C++ interop (P/Invoke), telemetry frameworks, AI-assisted dev tools (Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code)
