Senior Backend Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer to join our growing team in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. This is a new, individual contributor role focused on scaling our high-performance, reliable backend system to meet the demands of our expanding user base. As more companies leverage our platform for goal tracking, feedback, and performance management, this role is critical in handling large volumes of real-time data, seamless integrations with platforms like Slack and Teams, and delivering fast user experiences. You will play a key part in ensuring our system remains scalable, efficient, and stable, while accelerating feature delivery to enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and overall product performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain scalable, high-quality Ruby on Rails applications and APIs to support core product features.
• Optimize system performance through efficient database design, implementing caching strategies (e.g., Redis), and effective background job processing (e.g., Sidekiq).
• Enable reliable and fast product delivery by writing testable code, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating closely with product and design teams to ship impactful features.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• 5 to 9 years of professional backend engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails.
• Strong experience with Python.
• Experience with database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with caching mechanisms (e.g., Redis).
• Experience with background job processing systems (e.g., Sidekiq).
• Understanding of CI/CD principles.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
