Job Description : Node.js/Nest.js Backend Developer
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Node.js/Nest.js Backend Developer to join our technology team and build, maintain, and optimize reliable and scalable backend applications. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in Node.js/ Nest.js, backend development, APIs, databases, and server-side programming, with a good understanding of application performance and security.
The candidate will work closely with frontend developers, product designers, DevOps engineers, and other teams to develop high-quality applications and deliver smooth digital experiences.
Key Responsibilities
-Develop and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Node.js/Nest.js.
-Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services.
-Build and integrate APIs with frontend applications and third-party services.
-Work with databases such as MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies.
-Write clean, reusable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
-Implement authentication, authorization, data validation, and appropriate security practices.
-Identify and resolve bugs, performance issues, and backend-related problems.
-Optimize APIs, database queries, and application performance.
-Collaborate with frontend developers to ensure smooth integration between frontend and backend systems.
-Work with DevOps teams to support application deployment, monitoring, and production issues.
-Participate in code reviews and follow established development standards.
-Write and maintain appropriate unit and integration tests.
-Maintain technical documentation for APIs, services, and backend processes.
-Stay updated with modern backend technologies and industry best practices.
Required Skills:
1. Strong proficiency in Node.js/Nest.js
2. Good knowledge of JavaScript / TypeScript.
3. Strong understanding of Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
4. Experience developing REST APIs and backend services.
5. Good knowledge of MongoDB and/or SQL databases.
6. Understanding of API authentication and authorization such as JWT and OAuth.
7. Good understanding of Git and version control.
8. Familiarity with Docker and basic cloud/deployment concepts.
9. Understanding of backend security and performance optimization.
10. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
11. Good communication and teamwork skills.
Good to Have:
. Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
. Knowledge of Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging systems.
. Experience with microservices architecture.
. Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines.
. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
. Familiarity with automated testing frameworks.
. Experience working in SaaS, startup, or product-based organizations.
Experience
3-5 years of relevant experience in Node.js/Nest.js Backend development.
