Job Description
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable Azure-based data solutions
- Design, implement, and manage end-to-end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and related technologies.
- Develop and deploy data integration and transformation processes to consolidate, cleanse, and enrich data from various sources
- Implement best practices for data modeling, storage, and indexing in Azure SQL databases and Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Optimize data solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency, leveraging Azure services.
- Design and implement data security, access controls, and compliance measures in accordance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, Analysts, and other stakeholders to provide accurate and timely data for analytics and reporting.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data pipelines, performance, and data quality.
- Stay updated with the latest Azure technologies and trends in data engineering to ensure continuous improvement of our data solutions.
- Mentor and guide junior data engineers on technical best practices and development methodologies.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and adherence to coding standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven track record of 5-8 years in Azure data engineering, with a focus on data pipelines, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related Azure services.
- Proficiency in SQL queries and scripting for data transformation and integration.
- Experience with data modeling, database design, and optimization for Azure SQL databases and Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and version control.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles and practices for data protection and compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex data engineering issues.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Prior experience mentoring and guiding junior data engineers is advantageous.
- Microsoft certified Azure Data Engineer certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) and containerization (Docker) is desirable.
