Senior Automation Test Engineer

The role of Senior Automation Engineer is a new opening within Sony India Software centre. The Sr Automation Test Engineer will be responsible for understanding our project testing requirements. You should be able to produce comprehensive Test Plans / Test Cases / Regression Packs and execute on them. You will be joining a well-established team and will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of technologies across a large landscape.

Senior Automation Test Engineer

[Primary Skills]:

• 6 to 8 years of Strong Experience in automation testing using Playwright ,Java, Java Script, Selenium and BDD framework.
• Experience in Java and Collections.
• Experience in Testing methodologies and Agile development methodologies.
• Working experience in tools like Jira, Confluence and Jenkins.
• Experience in version control tools like GitHub.
• Experience in TestNg and Cucumber BDD framework.
• Experience in Framework design from the scratch.
• Experience in Extent Reports.
• Should have strong communication skills.

[Good to have Skills]:

• Working knowledge in Qtest.
• Knowledge on Sauce Labs.
• Working experience in Applitools is an added advantage.

[Responsibilities and Duties]:

• Strategy Architecture: Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable automation frameworks (UI, API, and Mobile) from the ground up.
• CI/CD Integration: Own the integration of automated test suites into DevOps pipelines (Azure DevOps, Jenkins, or GitHub Actions) to ensure a "Shift Left" testing approach.
• AI Innovation: Evaluate and implement emerging AI-powered testing tools (e.g., Playwright, Sauce Labs AI, or Mabl) to reduce test maintenance and improve flake detection.
• Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers and Architects to ensure testability is baked into the initial design phase.
• Develop, write, and execute test scripts for integration, regression and usability testing across multiple platforms and environments.
• Analysing stories to prepare test scenarios and validate acceptance criteria in tickets
• Track and manage defects, taking ownership and seeing them through to completion
• Ensuring that all test-related activities to be undertaken are mapped to business requirements
• Work with the technical team on implementing test automation across the projects
• Report Defects to development teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate closely with other team members.
• Engage with developers in an Agile development environment
• Participate in daily stand-up meetings
• Support UAT and production releases
• Ability to interface with global project teams so defect communications are effective
• Be proactive and take initiative.
