Overview

Satcon Technologies, Inc. was a U.S.-based company that designed and manufactured utility-scale power conversion solutions for the renewable energy market. They specialized in solar inverters for photovoltaic (PV) power plants and grid management solutions. Satcon's products were used to convert direct current (DC) electricity generated by solar panels into alternating current (AC) electricity suitable for the power grid. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2011 and was later acquired, ceasing to operate under the Satcon name.
