Role Overview

The Senior BW/HANA Data Engineer will design, develop, and support SAP BW on HANA and Native HANA data solutions. The role will also support the SAP BW/HANA Platform Owner in platform governance, delivery management, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence.

• 810 years of SAP BW/BI experience
• Strong hands-on experience in SAP BW on HANA and Native HANA
• SAP BW data modeling:
  
• ADSOs
• Composite Providers
• Transformations
• DTPs
• Process Chains
• Query Development
• Strong HANA development experience:
  
• Calculation Views
• SQLScript
• Advanced SQL
• Performance Tuning
• Data Modeling
• End-to-end data warehousing solution development
• Experience with BW on HANA, BW/4HANA and S/4HANA reporting transformations
• Strong troubleshooting and production support experience
• Functional knowledge of Finance (FI/CO), COPA, Supply Chain, Procurement, MM or SD
• Agile delivery experience
• Technical leadership, mentoring, and design review experience
• Strong communication skills and fluent English

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end SAP BW/HANA data solutions.
• Gather business requirements and convert them into technical specifications and data models.
• Lead BW/HANA development, including data modeling, data acquisition, transformations, process chains, HANA views, and SQL.
• Support BW modernization and migration initiatives.
• Troubleshoot data quality, processing, and performance issues.
• Collaborate with SAP Basis, Infrastructure, Security, Functional, and Application teams.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the BW/HANA development team.
• Drive continuous improvements in data architecture and development practices.

Role Scope

• Senior member of the BW/HANA team of approximately 5 members.
• Acts as deputy to the BW/HANA Platform Owner.
• Supports platform governance, delivery management, and stakeholder engagement.
• Works with business users and multiple IT teams.
• Handles multiple projects and tasks in parallel.
• May occasionally require working outside standard hours for project or production support.
