JOB TITLE : Sales Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO : General Managers or any other official assigned by thereporting authority.
SUMMARY :
To ensure that budgeted occupancy andrevenue targets for the hotel are met or exceeded. This will be done bymanaging key customer relationships, managing a team of motivated sales peopleand ensuring that remote offices and channels are aligned with the hotelsobjectives.
KEY ACTIVITIES
Business Generation
  • To develop aplan by customer, industry segment, room type and geography to achieve targetedperformance on occupancy, ARR and RevPar.
  • To closelymonitor competition activity and strategy and modify actions accordingly.
  • Strategic dealswith tour operators and business partners to increase market share
  • Effectiveimplementation of sales plan and incorporate new strategies based on demandcycles.
Relationship Management
  • Regular salesvisits to assigned accounts to strengthen relationships
  • Conduct SiteInspections.
  • Presentation onnew product or new offers.
  • Hosting of mealsfor decision makers and Influencers of decision.
  • Hosting ofeducational and familiarization trips.
New Business Developmen t
Plan andTarget to achieve profitable New Business from
  • Existing portfolio
  • Shifting profitable business from relevant competition set.
Budgeting , Planning , Data Analysis andMIS
  • Ensuresorganizational policies and procedures are implemented.
  • Implements andmonitors the plan for rooms and FB by reviewing key performanceindicators.
  • Oversees theelectronic channels for the hotel, to ensure that occupancy and ARR aremaximized.
  • Analyses trendsand data to develop selling strategies to cope with changing needs.
  • Maintainsprofessional and close contact with customers, guests and competition to earngoodwill and incorporate recommended changes in services and amenities.
  • Prepares theannual budget for the hotel and updates at least quarterly.
  • Constantlyliaises with remote sales offices to maximize opportunities in all geographies.
  • Responsible forBanquet Sales and Revenue Management of the unit.
  • To maintain keyand potential customer database for communication and mailing
Strategic Management
  • Research anddevelop appropriate product positioning to encompass changing market trends.
  • Developstrategic and tactical plans for leisure business and ensure implementation.
  • Propose andrecommend pricing strategy to cope with changing market.
Administration
  • Set up salesprocesses and ensure implementation.
  • Propose ,develop and implement communication pieces for the trade in coordination withmarketing.
  • Ensure recoveryof dues in difficult cases in coordination with Finance.
